| B. Eng. (Electrical) |
| The Department
offers a rich and varied undergraduate program lasting 4 years and leading
to a B.Eng. (Electrical) degree. This is a full-time program, the course
is widely recognized and has been fully accredited by the Institution
of Electrical Engineers of the United Kingdom.
Electrical Engineering deals with the practical and innovative applications of electrical sciences and other associated disciplines. These applications include communication systems, power systems, control systems, computers, instrumentation and microelectronics. The undergraduate curriculum is designed to provide training in this wide range of applications. In the first and second stages of the modular the B.Eng. course, the education program is broad-based and provides a firm grounding in the fundamentals of electrical engineering. In the later stages, students are given the opportunity to specialize in one of the several possible tracks that fall broadly into the following areas:
Each track consists of a recommended sequence of elective modules covering the area of specialization and it is intended that, with this combination, the undergraduate curriculum provides the requisite balance of breadth and depth for a professional electrical engineering education. It also provides a base for continuing education, that is needed throughout an electrical engineer’s career. |
